How the lessons work

  1. Home row first. Rest your fingers on A S D F and J K L ;. The bumps on F and J tell you where you are.
  2. Add a few keys at a time. Each lesson introduces new letters with real words that use them.
  3. Earn stars. Pass with 90% accuracy, then aim for speed.
  4. Drill your weak keys. The game learns which letters you miss and practises them for you.

Questions

How long does it take to learn touch typing?

With around 15 minutes a day, most people can touch type the whole keyboard in two to four weeks, and keep getting faster after that.

Should I look at the keyboard?

Try not to. It feels slower at first, but it is the only way to build the muscle memory that makes touch typing fast.

Are the lessons free?

Yes, every lesson is free.
